 Eugene
and Marilyn Glick Foundation
Gene Glick has always believed in giving back to the community. In
addition to his company's commitment to provide top quality housing for people of low and
moderate income, he and his wife Marilyn established the Glick Foundation in 1982 to
channel their philanthropy.
Children's causes and education represent a significant share of the
Foundation's activities. The following are examples of long term charitable
contributions:
Mr. Glick designed and supports a summer work /education
program entitled Pro 100 to sponsor economically disadvantaged youths. This successful 20
year program has been recognized by Purdue University and The Community Service Council
of Metropolitan Indianapolis.
The Glicks donated 24 acres of prime ground for little league playing
fields in connection with bringing the Little League Baseball Regional Headquarters to
Indianapolis. Recently, they supported the development of the Challenger Field for
special needs little league players.
Three annual scholarships with an endowment of $150,000 were established
in honor of the Glick Company's 50th anniversary.
The Glick Foundation has supported many other fine organizations,
including:
- Children's Bureau of Indianapolis
- Indiana Society to Prevent Blindness
- Wells Scholars program at Indiana University
- Indianapolis Museum of Art
- Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra
- Riley Children's Hospital
- Jewish Family and Children's Services
- United Way
In recognition of the Glicks' extensive philanthropy, they received the
Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indiana Chapter of the National Society of Fund
Raising Executives.
