Glick 75th Anniversary Employee Spotlight: Myra Mellencamp

In celebration of Glick’s 75th Anniversary, we are featuring some of our long-tenured employees who have helped make Glick the impactful company it is today.

Myra joined the Glick team 43 years ago and proudly serves as a Property Manager at Jamestown Apartments in Seymour, Indiana. She is motivated every day knowing that her work makes a difference in the lives of those who need housing assistance. When asked what has kept her working at Glick for so many years, she said: "I have always been treated with respect within our organization, including upper management, my RPMs, my peers and my co-workers. I've felt empowered to voice my thoughts and share my ideas. I have always felt trusted to make important decisions and appreciate the autonomy my position has allowed."

During her tenure, Myra has felt encouraged and inspired by regional property managers she's worked with. "I've been fortunate to have several RPMs who have encouraged me to achieve both professional and personal goals,” she said. “I have been honored when asked by RPMs – not always my own RPM – to work with staff members who need additional training or support. My current RPM, Kirsty Lawson, and my most recent previous RPM, Destiney Webb, are people I respect and who treat me with respect and are caring."

When asked for her favorite memory from working at Glick, Myra said, "Getting my bachelor's degree, made possible by the Glick Company's tuition assistance program. Also, mentoring and training many new PMs by sharing my knowledge, giving advice, and just listening to their concerns, gives me a sense of accomplishment in helping new PMs thrive."

Outside of work, Myra is a member and past co-chair of the United Way Rock-N-Ready initiative, which provides backpacks and school supplies to Jackson County students. Myra also serves on the board of several community organizations, including the Seymour Housing Authority, Jackson County Community Service Council, Jackson County Drug-Free Council, and more.

Thank you, Myra, for your dedication to Glick and our residents over the last four decades!
