20 Years with Glick

Q: How did you get started with the Glick Company?

A: Joe Rumschlag and I served together in the Army National Guard, Charlie Company 1st-293rd. He was the maintenance supervisor at Cambridge Square Fort Wayne at the time, and he offered me a job as a maintenance technician. My first day was March 16, 1998, and I worked 12 hours that day applying pre-emergent to all the mulch beds on the property.

Q: Describe a memorable moment you have had while working for Glick.

A: As part of the “Built to Lead” program, I had volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. A former resident of Cambridge Square Fort Wayne was also there doing volunteer work, and she told me her story of how Glick helped her and her family get back on their feet by building a house with Habitat. And that’s why she volunteered with Habitat on a regular basis. It was then I had the “ah ha” moment that this is why we do what we do with the Glick Company.

Q: Describe the Glick Company in one word.

A: Confident

Q: What has surprised you most about working for Glick?

A: The feeling of family; it’s like there’s a bond between us. We all want to succeed.

Q: Who at Glick has really influenced your time with the company?

A: Paul Crosby is someone I have always looked up to. No matter how busy his day is, he will take the time to listen. That has taught me to put others first as well.

Q: Why would you tell someone to work for Glick?

A: It’s like family. If you enjoy helping others succeed, come work with Glick.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I have been learning to play guitar over the years. But my favorite thing is to see my girls grow and learn — it’s an amazing thing to watch.

Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

A: Spain

Q: What celebrity would you trade lives with for a day?

A: Eric Clapton. To play guitar like that for a day … WOW!
